Please join us on October 20th for a reading with beloved children’s author, Roger Mello. Roger Mello will be presenting his new book, Charcoal Boys, which explores the intertwining lives of a hornet and a boy, offering a vital glimpse into a world of Brazil’s coal mines.

Through the wasp we observe the hardships the little boy faces, from his work at the furnaces to his relationships with the other workers. Mello allows the little boy’s strength and resilience to shine through in this moving condemnation of child labor.
