About Elsewhere Editions

Elsewhere Editions is a new children’s imprint from Archipelago Books. The collection is devoted to translating imaginative picture books from all corners of the world. We hope that these titles will enrich children’s imaginations and cultivate curiosity about other cultures, as well as delight with their humor, art, and playful spirit.

We see this as a natural extension of our larger mission: to find visionary writers from around the world with something profound to say. Available in 2017, our first titles are My Valley by Claude Ponti, translated from the French by Alyson Waters; You Can’t Be Too Careful! by Roger Mello, translated from the Portuguese by Daniel Hahn; Questions Asked by Jostein Gaarder, illustrated by Akin Düzakin and translated from the Norwegian by Don BartlettFeather by Cao Wenxuan, illustrated by Roger Mello and translated from the Chinese by Chloe Garcia Roberts; and Goodnight Mr. Clutterbuck by Mauri Kunnas, translated from the Finnish by Jill Timbers.

You can read more about Elsewhere Editions, our mission, and our forthcoming titles in Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews.
